The AMEX-10 Liner End Seal (LEM) is suitable for sealing applications between liner ends and original pipes for diameter from DN 150 to DN 4000.

Setup & Function

The AMEX-10 liner end seal comprises of an elastic rubber seal and high-strength stainless steel tension band (technique according to AMEX-10 MONO seal). The sealing seal can bridge differences in the diameter between liner and old pipe or between different pipe diameters. The sealing function is manually realised by application of radial tension forces via the tension bands.

The liner end seal is permanently and flexibly sealed against infiltration and exfiltration of different media by the connection of the liner to the host pipe. Specifically at infiltration in gravity pipes, a supporting ring is used between the tension bands. At assembly, the liner in the old pipe is cut back and the AMEX-10 liner end seal is installed so that the liner ends are pressure-tight connected to the host pipe.

Application Area

– Application in accessible and non-accessible pipes for diameter from DN 150 to DN 4000
– Independent of host pipe material

Variations
– At a liner thickness up to 10 mm, the 260 mm seal width is used with one extra supporting band.
– At a liner thickness of 10 mm up to 20 mm, the 366 mm seal width is used with two extra supporting bands.
– At a liner thickness of 20 mm, the 500 mm seal or a conical seal is used with two extra supporting bands.

Benefits
– Permanent and flexible seal
– No use of chemical products (resins) at assembly
– Flexible and fast assembly
– No installation machinery needed

Pressure Range

The AMEX-10 LEM Seal is designed to withstand an internal operating pressure of 25 bar and on outer pressure of 8 bar.

Pipe Profile

– Circular profile
– Mouth profile
– Ellipse

Dimensions

– The seal width results from the difference between the different diameters
– The width of the bilateral sealing profiles is 70 mm each
– The height of the sealing lip is 12 mm
– The height between the sealing lips is 5 mm

Temperature & Media

– Temperature resistance -30°C to +230°C
– Rubber seal made of EPDM (Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer) for the application in potable water, raw water, sewage and industrial pipes
– Rubber seal made of NBR (Nitrile Butadiene Rubber) for the application in carbonhydrate environment
– Rubber seal made of FKM (Fluororubber) for high temperature resistance
